SAMBA, Sept 20: Jammu and Kashmir National Panther Party provincial president Rajesh Padgotra has said that there was strong resentment among the people after announcement of new Toll Plaza at Sarore on the National Highway in Samba district.
While talking to media-persons at Vijaypur today, Padgotra said that Government is setting up new Toll Plaza on Jammu- Pathankot National Highway near Sarore in district Samba. The NPP leader claimed that there was strong resentment among the people over this development. He said on previous occasion also the Government had tried to raise Toll Plaza at the same place but the irate public had dismantled the structures and did not allow it to happen. Now, again, the Government was trying to provoke the public.
He warned the Government to immediately stop the exercise on new Toll Plaza, otherwise thousands of people will again come out on the highway and it will become law and order problem for the District and Divisional Administration.
Padgotra further said that the Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari was trying to disturb the peace in Jammu region after initiating this fresh move, which is additional burden on the local public and others using this highway. He again warned the Government to stop this exercise, otherwise Panthers Party will never hesitate to launch massive agitation against the new Toll Plaza being raised near Sarore.
He said earlier, when the Government was setting up Toll Plazas in the region, then the BJP leaders protested to close the toll Plazas. The BJP leaders and their supporters broke two Toll Plazas on Jammu-Pathankot Highway. But interestingly they all have now turned silent spectators. There was strong public resentment over this new development, he maintained.
He said NPP will hold strong protest demonstration against opening of New Toll Plaza at Patli Morh on Sept 26.
