4 fresh POK guests among 24 cross sides in Karvan-e-Aman bus

SRINAGAR : Four fresh guests from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) arrived here this afternoon while five Kashmiris crossed over to other side of the Line of Control (LoC) to meet their relatives, separated in 1947.
As many as 15 returnees also cross sides at Aman Setu, the last Indian military post, in Uri sector this afternoon, official sources said here.
They said four POK, including a woman and a child, arrived here after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge on foot this afternoon.
This is after two weeks any POK resident arrived in the weekly bus service, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad since April 7, 2005 when Prime Mininster Manmohan Singh flagged off first bus from here despite opposition by militant organisations.
They said four Kashmiris, who were in POK, also returned to their homes. They included six women and two children.
Similarly five Kashmiris, including a woman, crossed over to POK to meet their relatives. However, only one POK resident who was here also returned to his home.
The number of POK guests goes down during winter because of very cold weather in the Kashmir valley.
So far in 2013 only 15 POK residents had arrived here while 91 Kashmiris crossed to other side of the LoC. (AGENCIES)
