NEW DELHI, Mar 11:
Efforts were underway to augment collection and dissemination of news by Doordarshan and All India Radio, Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari said today.
He said during Question Hour that the government’s endeavour was to make programmes of the two organisations holistic and comprehensive.
Replying to supplementaries, Tewari agreed with the views of members that more news programmes should be aired in regional languages and they should be more content rich.
The Minister said Prasar Bharati has informed that 44 regional units of News Services Division, All India Radio, broadcast regional news bulletins. (PTI)
