KATRA, Sept 23: Katra Police foiled two separate attempts of smuggling narcotics to the holy town and arrested two drug peddlers besides affecting a seizure of 12 gm heroin and 40 gm Charas.
Reports said that Katra Police apprehended notorious drug peddler Amit Sharma alias Rinku of village Kundrorian, Tehsil Katra from Kadmal near Oma Pati Palace Katra and recovered 12 gm heroin from his possession.
A case FIR number 217/2019 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered in this connection at Police Station Katra. The said accused is notorious peddler and was earlier also arrested by Katra Police in case FIR No. 122/2018 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act of P/S Katra and challan of the case was produced in the Court on 20.11.2018.
Meanwhile, in another success, Katra Police apprehended one drug peddler namely Shashi Sharma of village Akhli, Tehsil Katra and recovered 40 gms Charas from his possession. A case FIR No 219/2019 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act was registered in this connection at Police Station Katra.
The arrests and recoveries were made by SHO Katra Inspr Pardeep Gupta under the supervision of SDPO Katra Vivek Shekhar and ASP Katra Naresh Singh.
