IT Commissioner’s appeal to assesses for payment of advance tax

JAMMU, Mar 11: Income Tax Commissioner J&K Circle, AK Thatai has made an appeal to all the assesses of the State to calculate their income for the current financial year and deposit the advance tax.
“The payment of proper advance tax is an indicator of proper discharge of the statutory obligation cast upon the assesses under the provisions of Income Tax Act, 1961”, he said while requesting the assesses to fulfill their statutory obligation to avoid payment of interest under Section 234 B and 234 C of the Income Tax Act along with other actions.
It is pertinent to mention here that corporate assesses are required to pay four advance tax installments on or before June 15, September 15, December 15 and March 15 every year while as non-corporate assesses are required to pay advance tax installments on or before September 15, December 15 and March 15 every year.
