Develop nurseries on modern lines: Dir Horticulture

JAMMU, Sept 26: Director Horticulture Jammu Raj Kumar Katoch today visited fruit plant nurseries of the department in tehsil Khour and directed the officers to develop the same on modern lines.
While visiting fruit plant nursery at Pallanwala, the Director issued on spot directions to Chief Horticulture Officer (CHO) Jammu to prepare a comprehensive DPR for a amount of Rs 25 lakh under MIDH scheme at an earliest to develop the nursery on modern lines.
Katoch directed Horticulture Development Officer (HDO) Khour Sandeep Sharma to attend office in the Pallanwala nursery three days in a week and monitor the developmental activities personally.
While visiting Garhi Bishnah nursery, the Director was apprised by the CHO Jammu that an amount of Rs 10 lakh was spent for its upgradation during the year 2017-18 and during the current rainy season, a revenue of Rs 0.50 lakh was realized against the sale of fruit plants
The Director directed the CHO to prepare a DPR for the repair and renovation of Mali Hut at Garhi Bishnah nursery. The HDO concerned was instructed to submit a proposal with Block Development Officer Khour for construction of pathway in convergence with MGNREGA scheme.
Besides, Sub Divisional Magistrate Khour Anil Kumar Thakur, Sushil Kumar Angurana, District Horticulture Officer Jammu and Vijay Angurana, District level Subject Matter Specialist, were also accompanying the Director.
