JAMMU, Sept 27: The three -day long training programme on seed production organized by Agriculture Department at Panchayat Majoor, in Chowki Choura concluded today.
The training programme was organized to ensure better results in seed production and to have good yield by farmers by using best variety of seeds. In the training programme the Department of Agriculture imparted training to 140 progressive farmers of the area on seed production. The training programme was held under the guidance of Chief Agriculture Officer, Jammu, Farooq Ahmed Bhat and Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer, Akhnoor, Chameshwar Dubey. The training programme was mainly held on production of pulses seeds.
The programme was held under the supervision of Dr Ashwani Khajuria SMS III, of Sub Division Akhnoor. The AEO Chowki Choura, Pawan Singh Manhas besides delivering lecture on easiest techniques of seed production at farmers’ field encouraged them of adopting organic farming and he gave simple tips for adoption of organic products like Jeev Amrit, Beej Amrit, organic pesticides etc.
Dr Ashwani Khajuria made farmers aware about wild pest and rat management etc. The programme was arranged by Rajoo Dhar, AEA Majoor .
Sanjay Dhar, AEA Dhana Jarala, D P Sharma, AEA Ghar and Vimrash Jamwal AEA Rah were also present in the training programme.
