Bovines smuggling bid foiled, 4 arrested

SAMBA, Sept 28: Samba police succeeded in foiling two bovine smuggling attempts under the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwal by rescuing 18 bovines and arresting four bovine smugglers at Naka NHW Tapyal near Ghagwal in two separate incidents today.
A Police Party of P/S Ghagwal headed by SHO P/S Ghagwal, Inspector, Sudhir Sadhotra under the Supervision of DySP Headquarterrs, Samba, Tilak Raj Bhardwaj during Naka checking at NHW Tapyal intercepted one Truck bearing Registration Number JK02X-0951 which was coming from Kathua side.
During checking of the vehicle, 17 bovines were rescued and the bovine smuggler namely Bhag Hussain, S/O Nami R/o Haria Chack, Hiranagar district Kathua & driver namely Jaspreet Singh S/O Manjeet Singh, R/O Simbli Paryal, Jammu were arrested and the vehicle involved was also seized. In this regard a case FIR No. 87/2019 U/S 188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act has been registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation started.
Similarly in another incident, Ghagwal Police during naka checking at NHW Tapyal intercepted one Auto bearing Registration Number JK02BK-1162 and during checking of the vehicle one bovine rescued. Both the driver namely Rajeev Kumar, S/O Bachan Lal R/O Nandpur and his associate namely Som Nath S/O Sundar Dass R/o Rangpur Sidhra, Jammu were arrested on the spot and the auto was also seized.
In this connection case FIR No. 86/2019 U/S 188 RPC was registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation is going on.
