SRINAGAR, Sept 28: Additional Director General of Police, Armed, J&K, S.J.M Gillani today visited Armed Police Complex Manasbal to take stock of functioning of IRP-VIII and JKAP-XIV Battalions.
The ADGP also ascertained welfare of jawans including their living conditions and listened to grievances. He was accompanied by IGP AP/IR Kashmir, Vijay Kumar.
During the visit, the ADGP conducted a joint darbar of officers and officials of IRP-VIII and JKAP-XIV. He advised the unit personnel to perform their duties with devotion and dedication by following SOPs. He advised them to wear proper riot control gear while performing Law & Order duties.
The ADGP stressed upon the to focus on public friendly activities and keep themselves physically fit by attending games and doing exercises. The ADGP advised the concerned Commandants to provide quality food to the Jawans commensurate to the allowances given to them by the government for the purpose.
Gillani also laid emphasis on prevailing security scenario and need for exercising extra alertness on the part of Police personnel on their respective duties. He stressed on punctuality and maintenance of discipline besides ensuring the foolproof security of the complex.
A recreation hall newly constructed by JKAP-XIV and a Tradesmen Block renovated by IRP-VIIIBn was also inaugurated by the ADGP on the occasion. The ADGP appreciated Firdous Iqbal-SSP Commandant JKAP-XIV Battalion and Maqsood-ul-Zaman-SSP Commandant IRP-VIII Battalion, who is also the Estate in-charge of APC Manasbal, for the employee-friendly activities carried out by them in the APC Complex Manasbal.
The ADGP Armed also conducted the inspection of entire APC complex premises, main office, Daily Diary, Clothing/ Equipment/ Ration stores, dry canteen, signal centre and unit mess of both the units, besides other ongoing constructional works.
