JAMMU, Sept 29: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) has appealed Prime Minister and Union Finance Minister to release pending installment of 5% DA due from July 1, 2019 in favour of both Central/State Governments employees and pensioners as salaried class/pensioners finding it very difficult to make both ends meet.
“As cost of essential items has increased manifolds, employees and pensioners of both Central/State Governments should be provide immediate financial relief in releasing this installment of DA in the upcoming Union Cabinet meeting,” NMC president Subhash Shastri said while addressing a well attended meeting of workers here.
Shastri further demanded that the Central Government Minimum Wages Act be implemented in J&K and Ladakh at par with other Union Territories. He also demanded implementation of Employees Provident Fund scheme 1995 in J&K at par with Centre.
Reiterating its demand for early acceptance of the Ashok Lavasa Committee recommendations, Shastri said that if implemented Ashok Lavasa committee recommendations would yield a benefit of Rs 3000 per month to each employee. He regretted that it is now over more than 2 years when the committee report was submitted but it is still to be accepted.
