Cardamom futures up on spot demand

NEW DELHI, Mar 12:  Cardamom prices rose by Rs 16.50 to Rs 920.50 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions, driven by pick-up in demand in the spot market against limited arrivals.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in March rose by Rs 16.50, or 1.83 per cent to Rs 920.50 per kg in business turnover of 606 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in April edged up by Rs 3.30, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 922.40 per quintal in 968 lots.
Market analysts attributed the rise in cardamom futures to fresh positions created by speculators on pick-up in demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals from producing regions. (PTI)
