Tak released from house detention

JAMMU, Oct 2: A day after release of prominent political leaders of National Conference, Congress and NPP from house detention, police today also ended the detention of prominent People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader and former MLC Firdous Tak.
Tak, who was under detention in his house since August 5 when the Centre scrapped special Constitutional provisions of Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcated the State into two Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh was told by the police this morning that he was free now.
Yesterday, police had ended house detention of prominent Opposition leaders in the wake of upcoming elections to the Block Development Councils (BDCs).
