Jamwal appointed expert for hydro project in Afghanistan

JAMMU, Oct 3: Water and Power Consulting Service, a Government of India undertaking, has appointed KS Jamwal, ex-Deputy Director General, Geological Survey of India, as Top Level Expert (TLE) to render engineering geological advice for a new hydro project near Kabul city in Afghanistan.
During his last visit in September 2019, he initiated this project along with engineers of both the countries and returned India on October 2 from Afghanistan. He will be supervising the geological aspects by his intermittent visits to Afghanistan every month.
Jamwal has already rendered engineering geological advice for about 12 projects in different provinces of Afghanistan since 1906 till now. His major contribution has been attributed for Afghan-India friendship Dam in Hirat province of Western Afghanistan, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 2016.
