JAMMU, Oct 4: Several Panchayat members from Satwari block of district Jammu have demanded inquiry into the matter related to providing wrong data to the concerned authorities for the conduct of BDC polls.
In an urgent communication to the Director Rural development Jammu, the Panchayat members through Panch Ravinder Singh, Ward 7 Babliana, has alleged that some officials at BDO office Satwari Block have given the wrong data of 23.80 % ST population in the block while as per the actual record provided by the BDO concerned it has been shown as 16.57 %. This has forced the authorities to keep this seat served for the STs for the post of chairman BDC which is totally wrong unfair and unjustified. They said a case has also been filed in the court in this regard. They demanded impartial inquiry and action against the officials providing wrong information to support some favourites.
