Durga Nagar, Roop Nagar facing acute water scarcity

JAMMU, Oct 6: Durga Nagar Welfare Committee and residents of Roop Nagar Enclave Block- A have expressed grave concern over water scarcity in the area. Durga Nagar Welfare Committee president Roshan Lal Raina said that the area is facing water scarcity for last one week as authorities have failed to restore the same since then while P K Peshion of Roop Nagar Enclave said that for last four days the residents of the locality are facing water scarcity.
In their separate statements they have urged the PHE authorities to restore the water supply in the two localities immediately. Both Raina and Peshin said that on the occasion of holy Navratras and Durga Ashtami people faced lot of difficulty due to water scarcity in performing their religious rituals.
In an appeal to Chief Engineer, PHE they urged him to issue directives to concerned officers to restore the water supply to the area on the occasion of Maha Navmi festival tomorrow so that the people may not face problems in performing Kanya Poojan and other religious rituals.
