Screening of teachers under NISHTHA prog commences

JAMMU Oct 9: Four day screening for selection of Key resource persons under National Initiative for School Heads’ and Teachers’ Holistic Advancement (NISHTHA) program commenced today at Teachers’ Bhawan.
National Initiative for School Heads’ and Teachers’ Holistic Advancement (NISHTHA) programme is a national program being implemented by Department of School Education and Literacy through Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Samagra Shiksha.
This integrated programme aims at to build the teaching capacity of 42 lakh participants covering all the teachers and heads of schools at the elementary level of the Government Schools, Faculty Members of SIEs/SCERTs, DIETs etc.
The program at Teachers’ Bhawan was conducted for screening of teachers to designate them as key resource persons. Subject wise screening is being conducted under different panels. Expert panel were constituted for conducting special screening wherein experts from Universities, State Institute of Education and Samagra Shiksha-Department of School Education were invited.
As many as 61 aspiring candidates from Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts participated in the screening process.
Meanwhile, State project Director Samagra Shiksha, Dr. Arun Manhas informed that the screening process for candidates of the rest of the districts will be held later this week.
