JAMMU, Oct 10: English poetry book of Dr. Ashaq Raza entitled ‘Reminiscence’ was released during the recently concluded International Gandhi Peace Ambassadors’ Summit in Kathmandu.
The book contained poems on life, nonviolence, peace, brotherhood and harmony.
Mahesh Sharma from Indian Embassy in Nepal was the chief guest on the occasion while Gandhian Peace Ambassadors Padmashree Vijay Kumar (India), Dr. Helen Edwards, Director, PIO Australia, Lal Bahadur Rana, President GPF Nepal, Dr. Rohidas Swamiji Waghmare (Mumbai), Prof. S.K Agarwal, Chancellor PIU Ranchi, Akram Chowdhary (Bangladesh), Monty Singh (England) and Dr. Bhupan Viyas (Gujarat) were also present.
Speaking on the occasion the chief guest hailed the efforts of Dr. Raza to promote peace and non-violence hence Gandhian ideology through poetry.
“We shall keep a copy of it (book) in Embassy Library,” he said.
The book was published by Notion Press and Amazon and it includes about 100 poems classified in different sections and most of the poems are on based on peace building, non-violence and humanity.
The Summit was organized by Gandhi Peace Foundation Nepal from October 7-9.
Dr. Ashaq Raza hails from Darhal Malkan and is an Assistant Prof at Govt PG College Rajouri. He was one of the key speakers in the Summit.
