Ganesh’s work to be displayed at Amritsar Art Exhibition

JAMMU, Oct 10: The creative art work of contemporary sculptor from J&K, Ganesh Kumar Sharma, a wooden sculpture, “Standing Figure-2019”, has been selected for 85th All India Art Exhibition being held at Amritsar from October 20.
Ganesh, a well-known senior contemporary sculptor of Jammu and Kashmir working in the field of creative art and culture for the last four decades, has crafted a three- feet Deodar wood sculpture. It will find place for the display at the All India Art Exhibition, being organised by Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar.
The Exhibition will be held in prestigious Art Gallery of Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar from Oct 20, 2019 onwards. This prestigious Art Exhibition will be inaugurated by Ram Sutar, a world renowned sculptor of India.
Ganesh is the only Sculptor from J&K, who’s work has been selected for this prestigious exhibition.
He started his art journey in 1977 under the guidance of Late VR Khajuria, a renowned contemporary Sculptor of J&K as well as of the country. Ganesh has participated in more than three hundred State, National and International level Art Exhibitions so far and has done 23 solo shows in prestigious art galleries of the country and abroad.
Hailing from border village of Sanoora in district Samba, Ganesh has received several State, National and International awards including two times gold medal by American Biographical Institute, USA, Twentieth Century Admirable Achievers Award Cambridge England, National Award Govt of India, Jammu & Kashmir Govt State Award, State Award by All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society New Delhi and many more.
