JKNTUF takes out protest rally

A rally being taken out by daily rated workers, ICDS workers and Anganwari workers at Jammu on Wednesday.

JAMMU, Mar 13: A massive protest rally was taken out by National Trade Union Front (JKNTUF) against the Government’s negligent attitude towards the burning demands of daily rated workers, casual labours, need based workers, ICDS workers and others, from MAM Stadium, here.
Hundreds of daily rated workers working in various State Government Departments, ITI trained casual labours, need based workers, ICDS supervisors, Anganwari workers and helpers today assembled in MAM Stadium on the call of JKNTUF, to focus the attention of the State Government on their burning demands.
Later a protest rally was taken out from MAM Stadium, which passing through Jewel, Bus Stand and Indira Chowk concluded at Press Club Jammu. The protestors were raising slogans in support of their demands urging the Government to settle the same without any dealy.
While addressing the protestors, State president, JKNTUF, Mohd Gafoor Dar condemned the dilly dally tactics of the State Government to fulfill the agreement with JCC regarding regularization policy for all daily rated workers, removal of pay anomaly of ICDS supervisors. He stressed upon the Government to provide Rs 225 per day to ITI trained workers and Rs 175 to semi-skilled workers, besides releasing of pending wages of Anganwari workers and helpers.
The JKNTUF president asked the Government to settle their demands without further delay, warning it of adopting the agitational path, if it fails to do so.
