KATHUA, Oct 15: In a major breakthrough Kathua Police today busted Inter-State gangs of notorious thieves and chain snatchers by arresting five gangsters and recovered 280 grams of gold items worth Rs 11 Lakh approximate.
Police Station Kathua solved sensational theft case which took place in the intervening night of 2 and 3 September at Village Lachipur in jurisdiction of Police Station Kathua in which FIR No 283/2019 U/S 457, 380 RPC was already lodged. Team of Police Station Kathua led by Inspector, Sanjeev Chib SHO under the supervision of Majid Mehboob Dy.SP, Headquarters Kathua arrested three thieves involved in the theft.
They included Shekhar, S/o Ashwani, R/o Lanj Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, Ravi alias Amar, S/o Ashwani R/o Lanj Himachal Pradesh and Raj Kumar S/o Sakhi R/o Budhi Kathua.
Police team on their disclosure recovered 230 grams of gold ornaments and seized Hyundai I10 car bearing Registration No. HP34D-1035.
In an another breakthrough, Police Station Kathua busted Inter-State gang of chain snatchers, arrested two snatchers namely Kuldeep Kumar alias Kannu, S/o Hem Raj and Sachin Gupta S/o Darshan Pal both residents of Sujanpur, Punjab and recovered two gold chains with weight 50 grams for which two FIRs 317/2019 and 318/2019 U/S 382 RPC stands registered in Police Station Kathua.
Further questioning from both the accused revealed that they were active in Kathua town and adjoining area in Punjab causing sense of panic in the area and committed two snatching incidents in Pathankot town also.
Police has requested the people having knowledge about the incidents referred herein to come forward for giving valuable information to ensure conviction of accused.
