BYS launches 10 day long Yog shiver for lecturers, teachers

JAMMU, Oct 16: A special 10 day long Yog Shikshak Nirman Shiver for Physical Education lecturers/masters and teachers organized by Bharatiya Yog Sansthan Gole Gujral Jammu commenced here today.
Total 63 personnel deputed from Sunderbani and Lower Hathal Zone (Rajouri distt) are participating in the Shiver. All of them will be trained as Shikshaks. These Shikshaks in turn will impart Yoga to the students in their respective schools.
Madan Lal, Joint Director, Youth Welfare & Sports Department was the chief guest at the function.
While, addressing the participants Madan Lal commended the role of Bharatiya Yog Sansthan in promoting and teaching Yoga free of cost to the people in Jammu and surrounding areas. He urged the participants to adopt yoga in their daily routine and start imparting yoga in their respective schools as a regular feature. He informed that Government intends to start Yogs in each and every School and as such requested the president of Yoga Sansthan to help the Department in imparting Yoga training to all their Physical Education personnel.
He emphasized that Yoga will help the students to lead healthy and a balanced life. It is established that Yoga can contribute to a healthy physique and good mental health. Yoga lowers stress, boosts confidence, enhances self esteem, helps to lose weight, increases flexibility, stabilizes blood pressure and gives many more benefits. Yoga is also highly beneficial for students as it helps in developing concentration and enhancing the memory besides making them disciplined in their life.
Speaking on the occasion Satya Pal, J& K Prantiya Pradhan said that Bharati Yog Sansthan is a non sectarian, social, cultural and non profit making organization, serving the humanity/aspirants both within and outside India for more than 50 years now. The organization has dedicated itself to the cause of teaching Yoga to people. The mission “Jio aur Jivan do” is aimed at making people happy and healthy through Yoga, an ancient Indian practice for physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing. He also informed the Yoga is being taught daily free of cost at 110 Yog Kendras in and around Jammu.
