SHIVRATRI
An ash clad seer in shimmering dazzle,
curly hair locks flowing in blooming breeze
with a divine calabash in it – a blissful nectar
sprinkling every drop on an auspicious bustle…
A compassionate communion of heaven and earth
when and where the ‘Lord of Lords’ incarnates
in and as ‘Shiv’ to select His benign bride
amid tranquil tarns and snowy mountains of north…
Charismatic groom dancing on His own wedding,
mesmerizing whole universe with His rhythmic
beats of anklets – a festive occasion for the
whole mankind to celebrate with zeal and zing…
Lord with paen and penchant for a snow backdrop
meditated in serene valley of lakes and springs
where Hindu pantheists owned a Shaivic culture
and philosophy to harvest an immortal and benevolent crop…
Kashmir the womb of snow in winter nourishes the chill,
dangling icicles and frost to welcome the divine couple
to enter into the wedlock on the thirteenth midnight of Phagun
to celebrate the conjugation of theosophical dew and pearl…
Hindu world calls it ‘Shivratri of Shiv and Shakti’,
but Kashmiri Pandits celebrate it as ‘Herath’ when
pearly gates shower their blessings to devotees who serve
the eternal couple with an ambrosia of devotion in fervor and gaiety…
Men, women, young and old hum the hymn – “Om Namah Shivay”,
throng temples, shrines and worship the images of Lord
at home, play joyfully a pseudo gamble with cockshells
and newly weds enjoy the festive day under a blissful ray…

SUNBLIND
I’m blinded by sunlight
You’re my sun now.
I stumble towards the cliff,
Blinking;sightless.
And no one bothers to tell me
As I fall over the edge,
That you’re not the sun after all.
Because the sun lights my path
And you’re the glare that blinds me.
You’re a rind, my viscous mind; Oh….Sunblind…!!

    In your absence
In my days and night I feel your absence
But in my mind and heart there
Is always your presence.
Living in this world, thinking about you;
My love is nothing without you
My friendship is meaningless without you.
Your presence makes me to feel
Roses all around.
Your absence makes me to feel
That my life is in darkness.
You came in my life, in my way
Giving me the hope of the rising day.
You came in my life like a bright sunlight
Vanishing all my dark nights.
Everyone should get a friend like you
I am just waiting for U,
Hoping you will be with me
like a moon very soon.

EXAM FEVER
Exams are fast approaching
Some students are burning mid-night oil
While others are completing their practical file
And result will come out when the heat of sun will be scorching.
Almost all students have  become
More careful about their studies
They are even neglecting their feeds.
Some students want to get division
While others have done so much             revision
So that they may get position
I suggest to
All the students there is no fun to become nervous
Instead take your exams serious
Pray to God
So that day of result may make you happy
