DGP sanctions special reward, scholarship for wards of police personnel

SRINAGAR, Oct 19: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has granted special reward of Rs 1.70 lakh in favour of wards of serving police personnel who have qualified different academic and competitive examination during the year 2019. The DGP has also sanctioned scholarships of Rs 56,000 in favour of wards of martyred police personnel to provide financial assistance.
Rs 10,000 each along with commendation certificate Class-1 has been granted in favour of 17 police wards for qualifying different academic and competitive examinations. The special reward has been granted out of Central Police Education Fund.
Those who have been awarded special reward for qualifying MBBS include Somani Gupta, Harris Hamid Ganie, Shafakat Ul Nisa, Hashim Farooq, Abair Ul Ahad Mir, Ifra Mohi-ud Din, Harshpreet Singh, Muskan, Toiba Firdous and Aaliya Mohi-ud-Din.  Shafaq and Sumit Bhat were rewarded for qualifying BAMS. Idrees Kouser, Irtiqa Manzoor, Bashir Ahmad Malla and Simran Preet were rewarded for qualifying competitive examination for BDS, MVSc, Lecturer and Assistant Professor respectively. Rouf Ahmad Lone has been rewarded for qualifying Kashmir Administrative Services (KAS).
Meanwhile, the DGP granted scholarship of Rs 56,000 in favour of 6 wards of those police personnel who laid down their lives in violence and militancy related incidents in the State to provide financial assistance. Two wards pursuing Masters Degree were granted Rs 12,000 each. Rs 10,000 each was granted to the two wards studying B.Ed and 12th Class and 2 wards studying in class 10th and 8th were granted Rs 6,000 each. The scholarship has been granted out of Central Police Education Fund.
