JAMMU, Oct 20: Continuing his commitment to provide better basic as well as development facilities to the people of Jammu, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation, Chander Mohan Gupta today inspected works of inner roads and lanes in Pamposh Colony and Janipur area.
A public meeting was also held with the residents of Pamposh Colony Janipur Jammu of Ward No 38 at the premises of Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan Pamposh Colony Janipur and listened to the grievance of inhabitants, who demanded development, more Safai Karamcharies, construction of culverts on the blocked drains, deep Nallahs, renovations of lanes, rectification of street lights and solution of water crises in bye lanes and putting up an arch to avoid plying heavy vehicle in the lane and avoiding traffic rules.
The black topping works was also inspected at Pamposh Colony. It was the long pending demand of the inhabitants of the area. The Mayor directed the concerned officers for immediate submission of proposals. Gupta assured the residents that all their demands will be fulfilled on war footing and appealed the general public not to throw garbage , silt, polythene etc in the drains/lanes and avoid using polythene as well as single used plastic in their routine life and cooperate to make the city clean and green.
Narinder Sharma, Councilor of Ward number 38; M L Dogra, fomer Regional Director, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India; Vijay Kumar, former , Dy Superintend of Police J&K; Former Capt H N Koushal , B L Pandita, Gittan Singh and others local inhabitants as well as senior officers and staff were accompanying the Mayor.
