JAMMU, Mar 14: Panun Kashmir (PK) today lambasted the State Government for creating an atmosphere of fear psychosis and intimidation in the Kashmiri Pandit’s refugee camp at Jagti, Nagrota.
Addressing the desperate Kashmiri Pandits inmates at Jagti, Sanjay Raina, Co-ordinator, Panun Kashmir, Jagti unit said, “the camp inmates are highly agitated and intimidated over the recent uttering’s of the State Government that more than 6 crore rupees are over due from the Kashmiri Pandit refugees as electricity bills”.
Raina said it is improper to mention since the Jagti Camp inmates have been subjected to intimidation and fear psychosis by the authorities so that they are made to comply with the inhuman measures adopted by the Government to force them to live in inhuman conditions.
Lashing out at the administration and accusing them of inhuman treatment of KP inmates at Jagti camp, Chand Ji Pandita, co-ordinator, Panun Kashmir, Jagti unit said, “Since we have been shifted to Jagti, we have not witnessed the regular electric supply and water supply is also erratic”.
It is absurd on the part of the State Government to pressurize the camp inmates to pay bills when the relief has not been increased proportionately as per the market situation. It is a well planned measure to create a sense of desperation to force the displaced to people to leave Jammu and place them as hostages of the regressive communal order in Kashmir where even the security forces are not safe, the PK leaders alleged.
The PK leaders appealed the Central Government to immediately attach the KP employees posted under flawed employment package in Kashmir at Jammu keeping in view the situation that is developing in the Valley. If any of our KP employees is made to suffer or treated in inhuman manner in Kashmir, we won’t take it lying down this time.
