One killed, 14 hurt in road mishaps

KATHUA, Mar 14: One person died while 14 others were injured in two separate road accidents in Billawar area today.
According to reports, a matador bearing number JK08A-9806 carrying a marriage party of Gujjars from Gurha to Darmamani skidded of the road at Dasanu and fell into a gorge resulting into death of one lady and injury to 12 others.
The deceased was identified 45 year old Roshan Biwi, wife of Juma Din.
The injured were taken to Dinga Amb PHC where from seven were shifted to SDH Hirangar and five were discharged after first aid.
No doctor and para medical staff was available in Dinga Amba PHC. Though PHC has an ambulance but the driver was also not available for shifting the injured to SDH Hiranagar and they were taken into the private vehicle. The driver of the matador fled from the spot after the accident. The Hiranagar police has registered a case.
In another accident a motor cycle bearing number JK02 -R0242 which was on its way from Gura Kalyal to Darmani skidded off the road only after reaching one kilometer ahead resulting into the injury of the motor cyclist and pillion rider.
The duo was identified as Chaman Lal and Pawan Kumar. They were taken to Ramkote hospital but as their condition was serious they were shifted to Billawar wherefrom they rushed to GMC Jammu for treatment. The people in the area have expressed concern over the failure of Government for not constructing an accidental hospital at Ramkote despite the repeated demand. They said the distance from Ramkote to Billawar is 40 kilometres and from Billawar to Jammu it is over 80 kilometres. The people said many times the patient breaths his last while on way to GMC.
