JAMMU, Oct 24: Several educational institutions today celebrated the festival of Diwali by organizing different functions.
A Rangoli competition was held at KC College of Education to mark the forthcoming festival of Diwali. Six teams participated in the competition wherein first prize was bagged by the team comprising Asha, Veerta and Diksha.
On the eve of Diwali, Government College for Women Bhagwati Nagar organized a ‘no to crackers’ awareness rally which was flagged off by Principal of the College, Prof. Raj Shree Dhar. Earlier Poster making and slogan writing competitions were also organized where Janvi Gupta, Reedima and Ashima were adjudged first while Priya, Sanjana and Ramneek stood second and Muskan Sultan was declared third.
Carmel Convent Higher Secondary School, Kunjwani celebrated Diwali with devotion where the theme was ‘Lights and Eco Friendly Diwali’. Competitions like Diya decoration, Diya painting, pot decoration, candle making, Rangoli making etc were organized. Principal, Maria Swati extended warm wishes to the children.
Sri Guru Gobind Singh Public Higher Secondary School Kunjwani Talab celebrated Diwali and the function started with lightning of Diyas and candles by the chairman Prof. Harbans Singh and Principal Gurtaj Singh. The student presented various cultural items with Bal Ram Lila by the toddlers section was the main attraction.
The festival of Diwali was celebrated at KC Gurukul Public School with enthusiasm. Entire school was beautifully decorated with Diyas, lanterns, Rangoli and other art work made by the students and teachers to mark the festivity.
Promoting the idea of green and eco-friendly festival, Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua celebrated Diwali wherein the students showcased their talent by preparing beautiful lamps with the waste paper bags.
Stephens International Public School, Jammu celebrated Diwali with immense ardor. The programme started with an enchanting skit depicting the important phases of Lord Rama’s life.
Tiny Scholars School, Kathua celebrated Diwali with great enthusiasm. The school premises were decorated with Diyas and other lights. Manish Gupta, Director of the school distributed gifts to the staff members.
G.D Goenka Public School, governed by Om Parkash Bansal Charitable Trust, celebrated the auspicious festival of lights with great zest and fervor. The children presented a skit and were dressed as Sita, Ram, Lakshman and Hanuman. Principal Rajesh Rathore congratulated children on the auspicious day.
Delhi Public School, Jammu organized various activities on the occasion of Diwali with a purpose to educate the students about our culture and tradition. DPS Jammu Principal, Ruchi Chabra wished happy Diwali to all while President RCT, M.K Ajatshatru Singh, PVC Kunwrani Ritu Singh and Director, S.S Sodhi wished the students and staff a happy, safe and eco-friendly Diwali.
Stepping Stone School Shastri Nagar celebrated Diwali with great enthusiasm. The celebrations started with melodious Bhajans of Shri Ram. School Director, Vikash Kumar Sharma and Principal Anjali Sharma extended Diwali wishes to all.
On the eve of Diwali, R.M Public School organized various activities like garland making, Diwali lamp making etc. School Trustee, Rita Mengi, Principal Ravinder Kour, Incharge Arti Rajput and Coordinators appreciated the students for their efforts.
