JKNGEEA resents decision on unbundling of PDD

JAMMU, Oct 26: J&K Non-Gazetted Electrical Employees Association (JKNGEEA) has expressed deep anguish over the recent decision of State Administration Council (SAC) to unbundle the J&K Power Development Department and J&K Power Development Corporation into different Corporations, making way for complete privatization of Power sector.
In a joint press statement here today, state president Farid Ahmed Mir, Mohd Maqbool general secretary, Gurmeet Singh Provincial president Jammu and Surinder Kumar secretary, JKNGEEA said that this decision of the State Administration would not help to address the present power crisis and development of Power sector in any way. They termed this move as anti-people and anti-employees.
They further pointed out that there is no clarity regarding the future prospectus of employees and safeguarding of their hard earned service rights of employees, engineers and especially daily wagers. They said JKGNEEA accords full support to the ongoing struggle of employees and engineers throughout the State under the banner of J&K Employees and Engineers Coordination Committee and said that the Govt should not pursue the decision before ensuring the service rights of the employees, engineers and daily wagers.
The Association further appealed all the employees of the PDD to prepare themselves for long united struggle to safeguard their interests.
