POONCH, Oct 26: Several villages in Mendhar area of district Poonch are facing water crisis for the last several weeks.
The inhabitants of Morha Kallar, Balakote, Ari, Gursai Top, Kasiote, Jaranwali Gali, Sagra, Kalaban, Chajjla, Mendhar town, Kandi- Glutha, Salwah, Baloni, Sangiote, Bhatadhurian Salani, Pathanteer and several other hamlets have complained that they were without PHE water supply for the last couple of weeks. They pointed out that due to problem in pumping and other water supply stations, the supplies have been affected.
The matter has been brought to the notice of concerned officials but repair work could not be initiated at many stations. In some areas, there is severe water leakage in pipes and water does not reaches up to the villages/ hamlets. The people have been forced to fetch water from the traditional old water sources.
