JAMMU, Oct 28: A delegation of J & K United School Teachers Association (USTA) called on Director School Education Jammu, Anuradha Gupta in her office chamber and put forth the charter of demands seeking positive action on the same.
USTA sought suitable modification of hard hit cases of Masters in recent transfers, transfer of all left out Masters who have completed their tenure of two years to seven years in far flung areas as well as out of their district, release of pending salary for the month of January, February 2018 and arrears of the 7th Pay Commission in favour of Masters working as Head teacher, release grant to clear 8 month salary of ReTs converted to teacher grade II and III and also 20 to 25 months pending salary of ReTs regularized during the year 2014 to 2017.
The USTA also demanded release of grants to clear pending salary of teachers working under NPS scheme, regularization of all ReTs who have completed 5 years service and EVS who are working in the Department for the last 15 years, regulate In-Situ promotions in favour of under graduates teachers appointed between 1992-1997 and adjustment of all newly promoted lecturers at an earliest.
While discussing the demands, Provincial President Hari Singh appraised the Director School Education that some Masters who already have served in far flung areas and out of their districts, were once again transferred to far flung and far away places in recent transfers. Moreover a large number of Teachers and Masters are without salary for months together due to which their families and children are facing great financial constraints putting them under mental stress and frustration in this season of festivals, he added.
The Director gave a patient hearing and assured to address the demands at the earliest. The deputation comprised of Rajeev Kumar, Roop Chand, Raj Kumar, Ali Mohd, Rashpal Singh, Madan Singh, Nater Chand, Dharam Paul, Asha Ram, Ganesh Dutt, Noor Alm and others.
