BMS to protest against shifting of Labour Deptt office

JAMMU, Oct 30: A deputation of Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) and Bhawan Nirman Mazdoor Sangh led by Subash Verma, State President BMS met Additional Divisional Commissioner Jammu and submitted him a memorandum containing their demand.
The deputation condemned the alleged capturing of the office building and land of Labour Department Rajouri by Deputy Commissioner office there for construction of Election Commission Office over the land of Labour Office before the implementation of J&K Reorganization Act 2019.
The deputation leaders said, the land was properly purchased by the Labour Department in the year 1980 and has full documents but the Deputy Commissioner is in a haste to build office there to “exhaust funds meant for the construction of District Election Commission office without transferring land deed.”
A handout stated that in the recently held meeting of J&K Building Construction Workers Welfare Board (BCWWB) chaired by Advisor to Governor, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai it was proposed to build a new office complex for housing Labour Office, PF office and J&K BCWWB district office Rajouri and the site proposed for Labour Office was 13 km away from the city.
BMS has demand that the Labour Office should not be shifted else it will start agitation.
Ashok Choudhary, General Secretary BMS; Harbans Choudhary, Gen Secretary BMS; Roop Lal, District Secretary Rajouri, Ravi Kumar and Chuni Lal were also present in the deputation.
