Killing of CRPF personnel

Sir,
The killing of 5 CRPF men by militants in Srinagar once again reminds us that Pakistan aided militants are active in the
State. It also indicates that the situation as was termed normal by some people is infact not so. The situation demands that the Government explore all options to restore peace in the Valley.
In view of the coming tourism season it is quite essential that peace returns to the Valley at the earliest. Otherwise constant disturbances would send a wrong signal to the tourists who may be constrained to cancel their bookings. It will hit the State economy once again, as it took nearly 15 years to bounce back to the position as was witnessed last year.
The elected representatives have to play an important role to bring normalcy in  the State. The leadership can’t go in  hibernation at this stage. Besides, security apparatus should be further strengthened.
Yours etc…
