Notorious criminal among five arrested with contraband

JAMMU, Oct 30: Police arrested five drug peddlers including a notorious criminal along with contraband.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Bishnah Police Station led by SHO Inspector Deepak Pathania laid a naka near village Kotli Charka and intercepted a Swift car bearing registration number JK02BF-3350.
During checking, police team recovered 13 grams heroin from the possession of three persons traveling in the car including a notorious criminal.
The accused have been identified as Tariq Mehmood Choudhary, son of Javed Ahmed of Village Harsa Dabbar, Tehsil Bishnah, Roshan Kumar alias Rahul alias Prince, son of Kewal Krishan of village Kotli Charkan Tehsil Bishnah and Ajay Kumar alias Aman, son of Som Nath of village Kotli Charkan Tehsil Bishnah.
It is pertinent to mention here that Tariq Mehmood Choudhary was a notorious criminal and was involved in various criminal cases registered in different Police Stations.
Meanwhile, on specific information, a team from Bagh-e-Bahu Police Station led by Incharge SHO Inspector Rattan Singh Rana laid a naka near Environment Park and signaled an Alto car bearing registration number JK20A-6609.
During checking, police team recovered 82 grams heroin, 250 grams poppy straw, 2 syringes, 5 foil papers and Rs 5000 cash were recovered from the possession of the driver and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Sanjay Singh alias Kaka, son of Amar Singh of Panjoa Nagrota, District Jammu.
In another similar case, a team from Gangyal Police Station led by SHO Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia and intercepted a Santro car bearing registration number PB02AX-0652.
During frisking, police team recovered 12 grams heroin from the possession of the two persons traveling in the car.
The arrested persons have been identified as Kamaljeet Singh, son of Late Surinder Singh of Nanak Nagar District Jammu and Sourab Sudan, son of Mahesh Kumar of Indra Nagar District Jammu.
Cases under relevant sections have been registered at Bishnah, Bagh-e-Bahu and Gangyal police stations and investigation started.
