Bid to smuggle polythene foiled

KATHUA, Nov 3: The sleuths of Excise Department foiled an attempt to smuggle polythene into the State from Toll Post Lakhanpur.
As per official spokesman, during checking of a bus bearing registration number PB10FF-4951, 55 kilograms of polythene was found.
The seized polythene alongwith the owner handed over to the Range Officer, Anti-Polythene Check Post, Lakhanpur, for further appropriate action under rules.
The whole operation was supervised by Deputy Excise Commissioner, Pardeep Singh and carried out by Excise and Taxation Officer, Abdul Rehman, Toll Post Lakhanpur, Inspector Amit Sharma and Excise Guard Abdul Hamid.
M Raju, Excise Commissioner asked the team to carry on their special drive to thwart the nefarious designs of smugglers in future also.
