JAMMU, May 12: The Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Pardeep Gupta today reviewed the power scenario in Jammu city at a high level meeting of Power Development Department.
The Div Com asked the PDD authorities to keep a close vigil to check power pilferage and illegal hooking which is the main cause for occasional breakdowns. He said that the power theft needs to be checked effectively to avoid inconvenience to the genuine consumers.
Reviewing the power curtailment schedule, the Div Com asked the PDD to restrain from resorting to unscheduled power cuts, particularly in the metered areas. He called for conducting regular inspections to check the misuse of the power and asked the concerned to aware people about the judicious use of the energy to help the department in maintaining better quality power supply and its management. Div Com also directed the PDD authorities to ensure regular power supply to PHE feeders so that adequate water supply could be provided to the people.
