JAMMU, Nov 4: The son of a martyr police officer died under mysterious circumstances in Trikuta Nagar area of city outskirts.
The deceased has been identified as Mihir Vir Pratap (22) son of late Deputy SP Varinder Singh Jaipuria, who got martyrdom about a decade ago in Rajouri while fighting with terrorists.
According to the sources, Mihir, a college going student and resident of south Extension, Trikuta Nagar, was found in unconscious condition at one of his friends’ home located in Dilli area of Trikuta Nagar, last evening. His family members and kin shifted him to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where doctors declared him as brought dead.
“However, not satisfied with GMCH doctors, Mihir’s family members took him to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital in Katra but the doctors there also declared him as brought dead,” sources said, adding today his body was again shifted to GMCH Jammu for postmortem.
Though inquest proceeding in this connection has been initiated by police station Trikuta Nagar to know the reason of death but sources said prima facie it appears that the boy died of drug overdose.
