JAMMU, Nov 5: Chief Engineer PHE Jammu, Dr Sanjeev Kumar Chadha, along with other officers of the department conducted extensive tour of Dansal block and held Public `Darbars’ at Panchayat Ghar Jajjar Kotli and Dansal.
At Jajjar Kotli, Reena Sharma Chairperson Block Development Council along with Sarpanchs and Panchs apprised officials of PHE regarding problems being faced by the public of the area with respect to drinking water supply. The officials of PHE Department patiently listened to the grievances of the public represented by their Sarpanches and resolved various issues on the spot.
The Chief Engineer also directed the staff of PHE Department to resolve all the remaining problems with respect to water supply as early as possible and also complete the ongoing schemes under `Languishing’ and other different heads by March 31, 2020.
Thereafter, a public Darbar was also held at Dansal Panchayat Ghar where Sarpanchs and Panchs along with local public were present. BDC chairperson Reena Sharma and Sarpanches Capt Pyare lal Sharma from Churta, Kuldeep Sharma from Janakha and Soma Devi from Dansal projected the issues related to water scarcity in their areas. The Chief Engineer issued on the spot instructions to the concerned officers and field staff to improve water supply.
Dr Chadha then along with staff of PHE Department also visited the site of dug well and sump tank being constructed under WSS Chaddli (NABARD) and issued instructions for early completion of the scheme. Sarpanch Soma Devi of Dansal Panchayat also accompanied Chief Engineer during his visit various sites.
The Chief Engineer apprised the gathering that Jammu and Kashmir Govt has launched a massive programme of providing assured quantity of drinking water supply to every house hold by way of pipe connection through function household tap connection (FHTC) under Jal Jeevan Mission by 2022. The PHE department was working very hard to meet the challenge, he added.
