CEC chairs Governing Board Meeting of KREDA

KARGIL, Nov 9: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan chaired the Governing Board Meeting of Kargil Renewable Energy Development Agency (KREDA) at Tourist Facilitation Centre Bemathang here today.
Executive Councilor for Social Welfare Aga Syed Mujtaba Mosavi, Executive Councilor for Tourism Er Phunsog Tashi, Executive Councilor for Works Aga Syed Abbass Razvi, Executive Councilor for Health Muhammad Ali Chandan, Deputy Commissioner and CEO,LAHDC, Kargil Baseer ul Haq Choudhary besides other Governing Board members attended the meeting.
During the course of the meeting, the CEC, who is also the Chairman of the Governing Board, reviewed the activities of the agency pertaining to various schemes under hydro, solar and thermal sector.
Project Director KREDA Kacho Ahmad Khan through a power point presentation presented the details of ongoing as well as completed projects.
The meeting was informed that 0.55 MW capacity Matayen Small Hydro Project (SHP) has been successfully tested and is ready to be commissioned and inaugurated in near future while as 1.5 MW capacity Khandi SHP is also ready for test running. It was further given out that besides the SHP and Solar Photo Voltaic (SPV) projects, more than 3000 green houses have been provided to the beneficiaries while as 10000 collector area has been covered under the solar water heater programme.
Various other issues related to the functioning of KREDA, requirement of funds, delay in power purchase agreements and other allied issues came up for discussion.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner Kargil who is also the Vice of the Governing Board of KREDA assured to take up all issues with the Lieutenant Governor, UT Ladakh.
It was informed in the meeting that under the ongoing SPV Rooftops nearly 350 systems have been installed and commissioned by KREDA and the agency has today 4MW of installed capacity which in itself is a big achievement.
