Take concrete steps on dignified rehabilitation of Pandits: KPOA

JAMMU, Nov 9: Kashmiri Pandit Organisations Alliance (KPOA) today expressed hope that new Lt Governor of UT of Jammu and Kashmir Girish Chandra Murmu will on priority pay attention in settling the long pending demand of honourable and dignified rehabilitation of displaced Kashmiri Pandits.
“KPOA” which is the amalgamation of multiple Kashmiri Pandit organizations all over country expressed its solidarity with the Indian frame of Constitution.
KPOA while wishing success to the Lt. Governor for bringing normalcy and development in Jammu and Kashmir expressed the hope that he will also solve the long pending issues of exiled Pandits on priority.
KPOA urged Lt. Governor to take concrete initiative for dignified and honorable return & rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits living as refugees in their own country from last 30 years.
KPOA has demanded that all property of Kashmiri Pandits, which they owned before 1990’s , should be returned to them under Distress Sales Act.
It demanded the one time compensation against loss of property jobs and trade for these exiled decades besides, Justice against genocide and Islamic radicalization which Kashmiri Pandits faced in 1990’s.
KPOA has urged LG. that now Government should act and take a final and concrete decision for the exiled community, which has been ignored by all Governments so far.
It said political representation is also fundamental right of KPs as well. KPOA has also requested the LG to invite Alliance of Kashmiri Pandit organizations for further and final discussion for future of the community and their return and rehabilitation.
