Jammu, Nov 12: Dr T. R. Raina, former Professor Head, Blood Bank Government Medical College Jammu & Deputy President (Motivation) National Governing Body of Indian Society of Immunohaematology & Blood Transfusion (ISBTI) was today conferred with ‘Life Time Achievement Award’ during 44th National Conference of ISBTI -Transcon -2019 held at Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences Jalandhar.
The conference was attended by more than 500 delegates including experts in the field of Transfusion Medicine, Blood Bank officers, voluntary blood donors and camp organisers.
This award was given to Dr Raina in recognition of his contribution in the field of scientific research & advancement, teaching, training and promotion of voluntary blood donation across the country.
Previously in 2010 also, Dr Raina was given J.R.Jolly Award for vital contribution in the field of Transfusion Medicine during 35th Annual National Conference of ISBTI held at Hydrabad.
Dr Raina started ISBTI J&K Chapter as its Chairman in 1998 and also remained Secretary General of ISBTI at the national level for more than seven years. It has been decided that Jammu will host the 46th ISBTI Annual National Conference in 2021 for which the preparations are underway.
