ABVP begins dharna outside Civil Secretariat for highlighting demands

JAMMU, Nov 12: Highlighting various demands, ABVP Jammu Mahanagar began an indefinite dharna outside Civil Secretariat, here today.
Led by Parteek Raina, Jammu City Secretary ABVP Jammu, the protesting activists raised slogans in support of their demands, which include rolling back of semester system for UG courses in Jammu Kashmir, fulfilling the Government promise of 50000 jobs, filling up of vacant posts in Education sector, laws for preventing commercialization and privatization of education, change of name of SKUAST to Jammu Agriculture University, making Dogri and Sanskrit as mandatory subjects in order to develop the regional and traditional language and CBI probe into JKPSC appointment during the previous Government era.
Mr Raina vowed to continue the protest dharna till all the demands are conceded by the Government. “ABVP has been raising the demands of the students from time to time and has also submitted memorandum for the same but no action was taken by the Government, thus forcing us to come on roads for the cause of students,” he added.
The protest dharna was also addressed by Sunaksh Gupta, Nikhil Parihar , Sparsh Gupta, Himanshu, Sumedha, Shubham, Maheshwar, Viren Magotra, Vinayak Mmagotra, Abhiram and Rishab Bali.
Till the last reports came in, the protest dharna was still continuing even as Police attempted to vacate the area.
