JAMMU, Mar 16: Veteran leader and newly elected Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) Yash Pal Sharma today said that three year tenure of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was a golden period in the political history of Jammu and Kashmir.
Winding up first leg of his tour to different areas of Poonch and Rajouri districts after his election as member of the Upper House, Sharma said that roadmap of the Mufti Sayeed was the only way for getting restored lasting peace and accelerating development in Jammu and Kashmir. It was result of the visionary agenda of PDP that all regions were treated equally during the tenure of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, he added.
Mr Sharma, who was accorded rousing reception in almost all areas of Poonch and Rajouri, said that it was result of the misdeeds of the present regime that the State has been plunged into a deep crisis and every section of the society was bearing brunt of the wrong policies of the present Government.
MLA Rafiq Hussain Khan organised a function to felicitate Yash Pal Sharma after his elections as MLC.
Khan said that PDP leadership has taken a very wise decision to appoint experienced leader of Poonch Yash Pal Sharma, who is popular among all sections of the society, as Member of the Legislative Council. He hoped that with the election of Sharma as MLC, PDP would further get strengthened in Poonch and Rajouri belt.
Prominent PDP leaders like Maroof Khan, Shamim Dar, Shazad Khan, Azam Sagar, also addressed the gathering and felicitated Yash Pal Sharma for his election as MLC.
