JAMMU, Nov 13: J&K Ex-Policemen League (Jammu Distt) strongly projected the demands of the retired Policemen in the Jammu and Kashmir.
In a meeting of the League held under the chairmanship of S K Arora at District Police Lines Jammu today, its members expressed concern over the delay being caused in addressing their pending issues. They lauded the approach of the J&K DGP Dilbag Singh towards the welfare of the family members of the Martyr’s, awarding scholarships to the meritorious students/wards of cops and assistance to the needy and ailing Ex-policemen.
The members reiterated their demands related to the welfare of retired personnel and those serving which include removal of pay anomalies in fixation of pay during the implementation of the recommendations of the Pay Commissions, the regularization and fixation of seniority of Inspectors/ DySPs consequent to their placement in the next rank has not been done in compliance to the directions of the High Court of J&K.
They pointed out that the SROs issued from time to time regarding welfare of the Policemen are not being followed especially with regard to TA/DA. They further demanded that the life saving drugs be made available in Police Hospital and specialist doctors in all discipline be placed there. They also demanded that Medical allowance be enhanced from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month.
