FDP on ‘Artificial Intelligence’ begins at CUJ

JAMMU, Nov 18: The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, Central University of Jammu, is organising a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) in collaboration with AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy, AICTE, New Delhi, Govt of India.
The FDP was inaugurated by the Prof Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu on the main campus. He stressed upon the need of imparting training on the contemporary technologies to enhance one’s competency level. He encouraged the participants to learn as much as possible from this type of FDPs and stressed that these FDPs must be conducted on regular basis.
The inaugural ceremony of the workshop started with welcome address by Dr Yashwant Singh, Head of Department, Computer Science and IT. He informed the audience about the objective and importance of AICTE’s ATAL academy. Prof Devanand, Dean Basic and Applied Sciences, in his remarks, said that this workshop on the topic of Artificial Intelligence will be highly beneficial for the participants.
The resource persons for the workshop include Dr Partha Pratim Roy, Assistant Professor at Dept of Computer Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee; Puneet Jindal, Founder Eduwaive Foundation, Chandigarh, India and Dr Arun Sharma, the leading academician from other University of the country.
More than 50 participants from various institutions are registered and participating in the FDP. The organising committee of the workshop includes faculty members of the Department; Dr Arvind Selwal, Dr Bhavna Arora, Dr Deepti Malhotra and Dr Neerendera Kumar. The formal vote of thanks was delivered by the Program Coordinator Dr Deepti Malhotra Assistant Professor.
