NEW DELHI, Nov 19: The result of the IAS /Civil Services Main examination, which was conducted in September this year, will be declared next month, around 20th of December 2019. The candidates who clear the Mains Examination will then appear for the interview which carries 275 marks.
This was disclosed here today by Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh who is also Minister-Incharge DoPT, while discussing the Civil Service related issues with delegations which called on him.
Union MoS for Social Justice and Empowerment, Ramdas Athawale called on Dr Jitendra Singh to discuss certain representations that he had received regarding the Civil Services Main Examination. He also handed over to the DoPT Minister a memorandum requesting for the re-introduction of Pali language, spoken by a section in Maharashtra, in the Civil Services Main Examination, with the plea that it was there earlier, but later discontinued by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) from the year 2013 onwards.
Dr Jitendra Singh conveyed to Athawale that UPSC is an independent body, known for its credibility and it lays down all the criteria and parameters after taking into consideration all the relevant aspects. He said, he would, however, forward the request to the concerned authorities.
Meanwhile, Dr Jitendra Singh revealed that over the recent years, Civil Service examination is attracting applicants from all over the country and the toppers include candidates from different States ranging from Haryana to Punjab, Karnataka to Kerala and even from the most terror affected districts of Kashmir valley.
