RAJOURI, Nov 20: A team of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) today raided the office of Block Development Office (BDO), Kotranka and seized record pertaining different works executed by Rural Development Department (RDD) at various places in the Block.
Official sources told the Excelsior that a team of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) from Jammu, led by an officer of the rank of DySP today conducted surprise inspection in the office of Rural Development Department at Kotranka (Kandi) and seized some record pertaining to the works executed in several Panchayats of the block during 2016-17 and 2017-18.
Sources said the team will go for on the spot verification of works executed under MGNREGA by the concerned RDD officials at Khah Jamola and some other villages tomorrow. The ACB had complaints regarding withdrawal of huge funds against the ‘non-existent works’ by the RDD officials of the Block.
ACD Rajouri, Sushil Khajuria when contacted said that he was in Jammu to attend a meeting today. He received phone call from Kotranka office during noon regarding surprise visit of ACB team which was asking for the record. He said the matter pertains to old case during the period of 2016-17.
BDO, Kotranka, Ch Salam Din said that he reached office late from Rajouri and the team had already arrived there. Some record which they needed was provided and the remaining will be handed over tomorrow, because one of the employees keeping the record was out of station. He said the team was still there and it intends to go for spot verification of some works at certain places. He revealed that case pertained to the period of the then ACD Rajouri, Noor Alam and BDO office was fully cooperating with the ACB team.
