JAMMU, Nov 21: Jammu Development Authority has made it clear that Block Development Officers (BDOs) have no powers to issue No Objection Certificate (NOC) for raising commercial or residential buildings on the land under JDA jurisdiction.
The JDA has also requested the Director Rural Development Department to direct all BDOs, falling under the jurisdiction of JDA as per Jammu Master Plan -2032, not to issue any NOC/approval for raising residential/commercial units in their respective blocks.
According to a communiqué, issued in this regard by the Director Land Management, Jammu Development Authority, it has come to the notice that some NOCs are being issued by the BDOs without having such powers under BOCA jurisdiction of JDA and on the basis of NOCs issued by concerned BDOs, people are raising commercial/residential buildings without approval from JDA, for which the higher authorities have taken it seriously.
“For construction of a building on the land falling under the jurisdiction of Jammu Development Authority but outside the Jammu Municipal Corporation, approval for the same is must from JDA,” said Vikas Sharma, Vice-Chairman JDA.
