PDD disconnects 353 connections, recovers Rs 57 lakh revenue

JAMMU, Nov 22: Power Development Department (PDD) today conducted a mega disconnection drive in areas falling under Electric Sub Divisions I and Electric Division-III (Rehari-Jammu) during which 353 electric connections were disconnected and a sum of Rs 57.307 lakh was recovered on spot from the violators.
The enforcement team of Electric Sub Division-I , Distribution, Gandhi Nagar, headed by AEE Sardari Lal along with AE Narotam Sharma and concerned feeder managers under the direct supervision of Executive Engineer PD Singh conducted a mass disconnection drive of the electric connections of the consumers, who has not paid arrear amount till date.
The team disconnected 81 commercial/domestic connections during the drive and also recovered an amount of Rs 29.707 lakh from the consumers on the spot. Areas where the drive conducted are Gandhi Nagar, Sainik Colony, Channi Himmat, Transport Nagar and adjoining areas.
Meanwhile, three separated enforcement teams of Electric Division-III, Rehari-Jammu headed by AEE Canal Sub Division Vivek Gupta, AEE Janipur Sub Division Ashish Badyal and AEE Sub Division Akhnoor, SS Manhas also launched disconnection drives in their respective areas.
The team of Canal Sub Division disconnected 150 connections at Bhagwati Nagar, Talab Tillo, Muthi and Bohri and realized on the spot revenue of more than Rs 14 lakh whereas the team of Akhnoor Sub Division disconnected 70 installations at Bruie Kandi, Devnagar, Dasgal, Sohal and realized a sum of Rs 2.25 lakh from violators.
Likewise, the team of Janipur Sub Division disconnected 52 installations at Janipur, Roop Nagar, Bantalab, Kanger, Suraksh Vihar and realized on spot revenue of Rs 11.35 lakh. The team also imposed a penalty of Rs 4.32 lakh on defaulters.
