JAMMU, Nov 23: A bike rider was killed and his pillion was injured today when a speeding car hit their two-wheeler in Bus Stand area.
According to a police official, a speeding Fortune car on the way to Vikram Chowk hit a bike coming from wrong side on Bus Stand flyover near Super Speciality Hospital, Jammu at about 12: 20 am today.
He said in the mishap bike rider namely Suresh Kumar (35) son of Surinder Pal, resident of Arra (RS Pura) received serious injuries while his pillion rider namely Nisha Kumari wife of Balbir Chand of Miran Sahib, got minor injuries.
“Both the injured were immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where Suresh was declared as brought dead by the doctors while Nisha was responding to the treatment,” the official said, adding after postmortem of the deceased, his body was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
He said that a case in this connection was registered at police station Bus Stand and investigation started.
