Several important issues discussed in Paramedical Council meeting

JAMMU, Nov 23: Paramedical Council today conducted meeting to review various important issues facing paramedical courses in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting was chaired by Financial Commissioner Health and Medical Education Atul Dullo, Dr Parvez Ahmed Shah, President Paramedical Council and Dr Sunanda Raina Principal and Dean Government Medical College Jammu and Vice president J&K Paramedical Council.
Many important issues were discussed and deliberated in the meeting and Financial Commissioner directed the Council members to work on war footing for making admission to various paramedical courses in all paramedical institution through BOPEE.
He stressed that the admission process should be completed in all manners by the month of March 2020 and in this regard he issued standing instructions to the concerned officers to be in touch with the Board of Professional Entrance Examination.
Another important issue facing the students of Polytechnic College Jammu was also actively considered and members decided and resolved to work out the possibilities of imparting recognition and affiliation to the courses of Medical Lab Technology being imparted by the State Board of Technical Education.
In view of J&K Reorganization Act, the State Nursing Council stands dissolved, hence options were looked into to organize and implement the Indian Nursing Council Act in the UT in future.
Dr Sunanda Raina briefed the members about the progress made in starting new BSc. Paramedical courses in the Government Medical College Jammu. She also appraised the members about the upcoming new building of BSc. Nursing course at Gangyal.
In the meeting it was resolved that Dr Sunanda Raina shall take over the charge as President Jammu and Kashmir Paramedical Council and Dr Parvez Ahmed Shah, Principal Govt Medical College Srinagar will assume the office of Vice President of the Council.
The meeting was attended by various high level officials of Health and Medical Education Department including G A Mir, Additional Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Dr Yashpal Sharma , Director Coordinator new Medical College Jammu.
Prof ( Dr ) A S Bhatia, Head, Department of Biochemistry and Controller Examination Jammu, Prof (Dr) Sannaullah Kuche, Prof and Head, Radiation Oncology GMC Srinagar and Controller Examination Srinagar, Dr Sandeep Singh Registrar J&K Paramedical Council, Director Technical Education Jammu and many other higher officials also attended the meeting.
